We've stuck to our philosophy of what makes a good soup: we create the recipe around the best organic vegetables we can find and choose the herbs and seasoning carefully to help emphasise the deep, satisfying flavours of the main ingredients. We're very pleased with these 2 great new flavours and hope you will try them – please contact us if you want to know where to buy them.
There are 2 new great Tapas:
Black Olive and Fig
Green Olive, Lemon and Almond
Really delicious on some crusty bread or crackers - with a glass of chilled Fino Sherry or your favourite wine.
We were thrilled to feature in February’s edition – here is the article:
Sierra Rica Organic Soups
I first found the Sierra Rica Soup line in Spain while touring manufacturers with Encore Foods. Sampling the soups on a sunny rooftop of sales director Janet Murray's home in Aracena, Spain, I was hard-pressed to detach the memory of the day from my impressions of the 100 percent natural soups. But a few months later when the case arrived at my home and I sipped on a bit of Spicy Pumpkin Soup at my desk, I came to the realization that these soups can stand up to any atmosphere. I love the entire line.
But since we're talking about summer, I would be remiss in not mentioning the incredible Gazpacho. These soups are so fresh and clean, you can taste each ingredient on your tongue dancing about in harmony. I toured the factory while I was there and was surprised to find that what I thought were lunch ingredients spread out on a table, were in fact the ingredients for the next batch of soup they were preparing. All the ingredients come from local farmers - the finest sea salt from Portugal, freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil, and fresh vegetables. Suggested retail is $5.99 for an 18.9-ounce glass jar. Check out www.sierrarica.com for more information or call Encore Specialty Foods to order at 781-749-7491

As the days get warmer it’s time to stock up again with this great Spanish summer classic. Serve as a Soup – garnished with some chopped red onion, cucumber, green pepper or croutons. Or serve with lots of ice in a tall glass as a lovely, refreshing drink.
